BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The volume of money transfers to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to $193 million, an increase of 2.6%, compared to $188.1 million in the same month of 2021, reports Trend via the statistical data from the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also increased by 53.4% compared to March 2020 ($125.8 million) and 39.5% compared to the same period of 2019 ($138.3 million).
Meanwhile, Italy ranked first among the countries with the highest amount of money transfers to Georgia in the 2022 reporting period with $36 million, an increase of 20%. , up from $30 million in March 2021.
Russia is second on the list with $27 million in money transferred to Georgia in March 2022. However, the current figure is down slightly by 15.6% from $32 million in the same month of 2021.
The United States ranked third with $25.6 million in remittances to Georgia in the 2022 reporting period, an increase of 6.2% from $24.1 million dollars in March 2021.
