Russia’s aggression in Ukraine could see West Ham avoid having to pay transfer fee for 24-year-old

West Ham United might not have to pay the next installment required for Nikola Vlasic due to Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine.

This is according to a report by The Guardian who claims the Hammers could escape without paying for the Croatian, with the British government imposing sanctions on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.

My Europa League predictions.

Everyone watches pray for peace as Putin continues to defy the rest of the world.

And it looks like his actions could have huge ramifications in the world of football.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine will affect West Ham’s Vlasic payments

The Hammers signed the 24-year-old from CSKA Moscow in the summer of 2021 for around £33million (Evening standard).

However, these transfer fees have not been fully paid to the Russian side.

And it looks like there could be a big problem on the horizon for CSKA Moscow.

Due to Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine, the British government has imposed sanctions against Russia.

And as a result, West Ham could be banned from paying the next installment due for the Croatia international according to The Guardian.

It remains to be seen what actually happens and the legal ramifications are unclear.

West Ham still owe a lot of money for Vlasic and with Russia continuing to mount an assault on Ukrainian capital Kyiv, CSKA Moscow could be left out.

It will certainly be a story to watch closely as Putin continues to wage war on Russia’s innocent neighbors.
