RISFinance Summit 2022 Railway Systems Finance Summit

RISFinance Summit ’22 Rail Systems Finance Summit will be held simultaneously with “Rail Industry Show”, May 10-12, 2022 at ETO-TUYAP Convention and Exhibition Center in Eskişehir. The event, which will be held with the participation of 46 speakers composed of representatives of the local and foreign sector, academics, finance officials and public institutions, is a platform that will bring together all the stakeholders of the subject. The financing of railway systems and various models that can be applied in this field will be discussed during the summit, which will last three days.

The RISFinance Summit ’10, which will start on May 22, has been prepared with a program including information and offers of real solutions that will answer the current questions of domestic and foreign players who wish to participate in this important market. Infrastructure investments, financing models, project financing, rail systems industry needs, sustainable investments in rail systems and infrastructure services, and new technologies that increase efficiency will be discussed at the summit. In addition, during the summit, individual meetings will be organized for cooperation according to the requests of the participants.

The first panel of the summit is titled “Strategies for Private Sector Financing of Rail Systems Infrastructure Projects”. Özgür Soy, General Manager of Metro Istanbul, will moderate the panel. İBB Finans Deputy General Secretary Legal Advisor Lawyer Hande Kayacık, Elmadağ Lawyer and Co-Founder of Consultancy Lawyer Dr. Ramazan Arıtürk, Consultant Serhat İnanç and Garanti BBVA Infrastructure Investments Director Bartu Altan will be the panel speakers, and the topic “How to Apply Different models for financing investments in railway systems” will be discussed.

Topics Presented at the Summit

One of the highlights of the summit will be the new metro line projects led by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. On this subject, Serdar Küçük, coordinator of the department of railway systems of IMM, will give a speech and announce the metro lines which will be opened in 2023 for the first time during this summit.

Representatives from various financial institutions will be present at the summit. Şevket Taşdemir, Head of International Relations Department of İller Bank, “Financing Sustainable Urban Mobility Projects of Local Governments”; Standard Chartered’s Managing Director and Head of European Operations, Yoshi Ichikawa, will speak on “Financing Turkish Railway Projects with Credits Backed by Export Credit Institutions”; Tanguy Denieult, Country Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), will speak about “AFD financing in Turkey”.

Elie El Hayek, Regional PEF Business Partner of Alstom, one of the global transport giants, will deliver a speech entitled “Finding the Right Balance Between Localization and Off-Shore Content and Financing Infrastructure Projects with Competitive Long-Term Export Credit Institution Credits ” .

Investment Advisor Erk Özbelge will deliver a keynote on “How to Implement Public-Private Partnership in Rail System Investments”.

At the summit, IMM’s Director of Finance Branch, Dr. Rezzan Neslihan Vural will participate in the summit on “Financing Milestones in Railway Systems Sector”.

Professor Mustafa Karaşahin, faculty member of Istanbul Gelisim University, as an academician, will also be present with a speech on “The Impact of Railway Projects on Sustainability”.

The summit will continue for three days with speeches from local and overseas sector representatives, academics, finance officials and public institutions on various topics.
