High Court orders pay only 70% of tuition fee for transfer certificate to private schools

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered private schools to charge only 70% of fees for student transfer certificates. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for November 9.

The court instructed private schools in a hearing Friday on a PIL filed by parents living in the Shahpura area of ​​Jabalpur.

The filed PIL indicates that the school administration charges a 100% fee to issue student transfer certificates. At the hearing, the court examined the difficult phase of parents during COVID 19 and ordered the private school to issue a CT within seven days after taking 70% of the tuition.

At the same time, the Supreme Court also issued a tuition fee order. Private schools in Rajasthan have filed a petition with the Supreme Court for the court to initiate an action against parents who have not paid school fees.

The Supreme Court, however, has ordered private schools to consider claims from parents who are unable to pay school fees with kindness. The order further orders that if they are not able to take the tuition in installments only.
