“Has Kane ever moved?” – Son reflects on Tottenham exit talks for star striker

Speculation continues to rage over an important move for the prolific Spurs leader, but a colleague at the club will not be drawn to the gossip

Heung-min Son has hit back at speculation suggesting Harry Kane is destined to secure a big money transfer away from Tottenham this summer.

The prolific leader is said to be pushing to walk away from Spurs as he seeks to land the major silverware that proved elusive during a goal-laden stint in north London.

Top clubs across Europe are reported to be making enticing offers, but no formal offers have yet been made and Son is reluctant to rely on any rumors that lack substance.

What was said?

Asked about the England international‘s departure, South Korea international Son told reporters while on a World Cup qualifying mission: “Has Kane moved yet?

“It’s not all decided. Rather than worrying about his transfer, I’m doing my best at Tottenham.

“I want to focus on the national team and Tottenham. Maybe Kane is doing the same, he’s busy preparing for the Euro.”

Who has been linked to Kane?

With 221 goals recorded in 336 appearances for Spurs, it’s no surprise that Kane has no shortage of suitors.

Rivals Manchester United and City are both on the hunt for another No.9, with the Blues bidding farewell to club record scorer Sergio Aguero.

Chelsea also see a raid on their London neighbors hinted at, amid questions over the lifespan of Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud, while a meeting with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could be set up in Paris Saint Germain.

Any other business?

Antonio Conte Inter GFX

Part of the problem for Spurs is that they currently have no permanent manager at the helm.

Efforts are stepped up to secure a full-time successor to Jose Mourinho, with Ryan Mason having seen the 2020-21 campaign in an interim role.

Former Chelsea and Juventus boss Antonio Conte, who severed ties with Inter following a Serie A triumph, is among the favorites to take the reins of Tottenham.

He would like to speak with Kane if a deal were to be made that would bring him back to English football, but no deal is in place yet.

Son added of the executive search at Spurs: “I can’t speak to that topic.

“Conte hasn’t arrived yet, I have to be careful. It’s not confirmed and I don’t know if Spurs find a new manager or not. I’ll do my best in any situation in my position. “
