Remittances – money sent home by Kenyans abroad – continues to provide a stable source of foreign exchange for Kenya while supporting many households.

Data from the Central Bank of Kenya indicates that remittances have increased to a record $ 290 million (sh31.3 billion) in the first quarter of 2021, 27% more than the $ 229.8 million (sh24.8 billion) recorded in the first quarter of 2020.
