Biz groups support Texas, Mississippi, La.


By Asha Glover (October 5, 2021, 7:18 p.m. EDT) – The United States Chamber of Commerce has asked a federal court to side with Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi and prevent the Treasury Department US enforce federal law preventing states from using pandemic aid to offset declines in net tax revenue.

The chamber, in a brief filed Monday with the Small Business Legal Center of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, told Texas federal court that the American Rescue Plan Act’s tax mandate is unprecedented and unconstitutional.
