Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab and his then cabinet colleague Anil Deshmukh reportedly received 40 crore of 10 DCP in Mumbai to quash their transfer order issued by the then police commissioner , Param Bir Singh, said fired police officer Sachin Waze in his statement. at the Directorate of Execution (ED).

In July 2020, Param Bir Singh had issued an order to transfer 10 DCPs to Mumbai.
Mr Waze, in his statement, claimed that Deshmukh, then Home Secretary, and Parab were not satisfied with the transfer order issued by Mr Singh.
âLater I learned that a sum of 40 crore had been collected from the police officers listed in the transfer order. Of this â¹ 20 crore each was given to Anil Deshmukh and Anil Parab,â Mr. Waze.
Besides the arrested duo – Mr Palande and Mr Shinde – the indictment filed in the money laundering case also names Mr Waze as the accused. However, neither Mr. Deshmukh, a leader of the NCP, nor members of his family were named as accused in the indictment.
Mr. Palande and Mr. Shinde are currently in judicial custody in this case.
Mr Waze, deputy police inspector in Mumbai, was arrested in March this year in connection with the SUV-explosive found parked near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani in south Mumbai and the murder of the man d business of Thane Mansukh Hiran.
The indictment indicates that Mr. Palande and Mr. Shinde had played a key role in the money laundering case.
The central agency said its investigation revealed that Deshmukh used to call Mr Waze to hand over money collected from bars and restaurants. For example, between January and February 2021, Mr. Waze handed over 16 bags containing â¹ 4.6 crore to Mr. Shinde, while Mr. Palande was instrumental in conveying the NCP chief’s instructions to Mr. Waze. .
The ED launched an investigation against Mr. Deshmukh and his associates after the CBI filed an FIR against the NCP chief on April 21 following allegations of corruption made by Param Bir Singh.
Mr Singh was expelled from the post of Mumbai police commissioner in March this year, while Mr Deshmukh resigned his post as minister in April.
